Print Pitch Feedback

In this group pitch we presented individual slides on the same emaze presentation. We done this by using one of our emaze accounts and exchanging with the email and password. This was very useful because it didn't require us meeting up to create it, we done it individually in our own time.

One of the students said:
"I liked the way you photoshopped that guy with the city and the background... It was pretty cool and looked like a real album"

The experimental image above the quote

He mentions that we should keep the advert colourful and avoid black and white to match the video.
"Maybe with colour... Because of your video"

The second piece of feedback we received was to do with the cd cover mock up, the student mentions:

"I really liked the album cover, I actually thought it was real"
"I think it'd work"

However a point was raised by Vanessa that there is a lack of the actual artist. I believe that adding mystery helps make the artist more interesting and makes people curious.

To sum up the whole pitch, Vanessa mentions that every group showed off a different example in using a creative approach.

Team Meeting

Absence of artist

On Monday the 12th of December at 11:30 our group were meant to be in the studio taking photographs of George for the CD cover and CD advert. Unfortunately George was not feeling well so therefore did not come in. Luckily my group member Zineb went and booked another slot on Tuesday the 13th of December at 12:50pm.

6 Mini Case Studies

Powered by emaze

team meeting

My team member Zineb took screen shots of our group conversation to prove that we have our team meetings when we don't see each other in lesson. Here we spoke about what we wanted from the photoshoot of George for the CD cover and CD advert.

Team Meeting

Today during lesson we discussed our ideas on CD covers and CD adverts. We have decided that our 3 main points of inspiration will be our starting point and something we will talk about in the pitch. Our pitch will be divided into equal parts/sections so all 3 of us have a chance in telling the class what we image our end result. We will be using emaze to create our presentation because it lets you use creative assets but it also makes it look very professional.

These are the mock ups we made, in my opinion i think they look amazing. I might use a very similar approach but touch my one up a bit more.

Inspiration for Album cover

I have had a look at all of these album covers to give me inspiration for mine, the idea of a double exposure on by album cover would make it easier to fit more into the image. Another idea I had was using photoshop to make the photograph look like an oil painting. This gives the CD cover a soft effect.

THIRD STUDIO SHOOT!

This shoot was done in the studio and decided to get a bit creative. we used a simple white board to project different moving images. Each image that has been projected has a meaning and is going to be talked about in the evaluation. This shoot was very successful because we managed to get a silhouette  shot of George giving the video a bit of a deeper meaning. Unfortunately one of our team members Liza, could not make it during this time. However that didn't stop us from getting amazing shots of George to use in the video!

The flow of editing has started!

With the footage of George that we shot on the 3rd of November, my group and I have been able to create an introduction to the video. This involves George walking but using a jump cut to skip the walking ahead as soon as there's a little beat drop. Looking at the shots we took that day it's clear to say that we need more shots of him just to create that variety of creative and even just simple shots.

SECOND SHOOT!

This is our second shoot, we got lots of skeletons of our main singer George. The location we used was perfect for the conventional pop look, having an urban setting. These shots are going to be our main ones that we use in order to create our video. All of my team members were present during this filming, which i was thought was very helpful to find out what their take on the whole thing was and if their vision was slowly starting to come to life. We're thinking of having some extra shots of George in the studio with some sorts of videos projected on to him whilst he lip syncs to the song.

FIRST SHOOT!

This is our first shoot, I done this shoot by myself due to the availability of my class mates. This shoot was of my friend Elvita, she is playing the love interest in the music video. I got shots of her laughing and starring into the camera with a straight face.

Group filming decision

For our team meetings and setting a date for shooting is a bit of a problem because I am stuck on strict working hours. i work 8am to 2pm both saturday and sunday. Zineb another person on the team works on saturdays until 1pm. However Liza is free on both days, which is why it makes it hard for us to find a time to meet up before it gets dark. Also 14th to the 16th i will not be in london which means we cant start our filming. We came to the group decision that we will start our filming on saturday 22nd of october and then meet up as often as we can during the half term and get as much filming as we can.
